These are very rare lenses that are misunderstood by many. They have a certain warm look to them that is similar to the original 85/1.2L lens (not the later II version with modern lead-free glass) and they have beautiful bokeh. The 50/1L produces stunning prints and they are great fashion photography lenses. However these lenses are not razor sharp and they weren't designed for pixel peeping highly zoomed-in digital images. There is no modern lens that matches or replaces the 50/1L.
